And as we proceed,
To mosh through this desert storm,
In these closing statements, if they should argue
Let us beg to differ
As we set aside our differences
And assemble our own army
To disarm this Weapon of Mass Destruction
That we call our President, for the present
And mosh for the future of our next generation
To speak and be heard
Mr. President, Mr. Senator.

"If we can't hold ourselves up as an example of how to treat people with dignity and respect, we can't ask that other nations do that to our soldiers."

I am, frankly, disgusted. To the point where I can barely find the words to articulate my disgust.

Well done, USA. You've once again proved to us that you're as bad as the people you claim to oppose.

Pro-Choice March Largest in History
By Allison Stevens, Women's eNews
April 25, 2004

More than one million pro-choice activists converged in the nation's capital Sunday to protest the government's persistent effort to chip away at women's reproductive and health rights.

The March for Women's Lives – organized by a coalition of activist organizations – easily broke attendance records for national reproductive-rights rallies, overwhelming the 750,000 benchmark set in 1992.

Okay, people. Do yourselves a favour.

Call the White House at 202-456-1111. Tell the President that using GLBT Americans and the U.S. Constitution for political gain is shameful. Tell him you oppose the Musgrave anti-marriage amendment and any attempt to amend the Constitution to discriminate against GLBT Americans.

What Bush is doing isn't right and it isn't fair. I know some of you might be thinking 'well, I'm not a member of the GLBT community, what do I care?' Well, it won't be forever before Bush's crazy ideals affect you or the people you care about. A line has to be drawn somewhere. This man cannot be allowed to get away with these things.

As an alternative to calling, you can fax your member of Congress and give them your point of view. Don't rant and rave at them; just get your point across and make them see why they should oppose this change.

Also, remember that February 14th this year isn't just Valentine's Day; it's also National Freedom to Marry Day and there are rallies being held all over the U.S. Visit FreedomToMarry.org and DontAmend.com for more information.

It would appear Mr Blair's been taking numerous tips off his good friend, George W. Yes, our Prime Minister is becoming almost as adept at lying and shovelling blame around as Bush. Really, Tony, I'm sure your mother's so proud.

I don't know how many of you will remember this but, Blair told the British people that Saddam could have WMD deployed within 45 minutes. This has, of course, been shown to be an absolute crock. The weapons in question were field weapons. A little bit of a difference there, eh? Nuclear warheads pointing at London is hardly comparative to tanks and guns in Iraq.

In comes the spin.

Now Blair claims, when spewing this nonsense, he was unaware that we were talking field weapons instead of atomic bombs. Apparently it's all been an error in communication! Don't blame him, he's just the happy smiling face of this war!

So, this leaves us with one of two options. The first being that Blair knew full well that the weapons he spoke of were not of the nuclear variety but told us this anyway, just to whip us all into a good old fashioned frenzy. The second? That these intelligence sources that give our Prime Minister his information aren't exactly into being clear with words or thoroughly investigating things. Both quite startling revelations but, of course, it looks better for Mr Blair to make out the mistake was not on his part.

When the hell are we going to hear something that resembles the truth? I fear that most politicians have little concept of what honesty really means, having developed a 'fool-proof' technique of simply using lie after lie to cover the original ones.

What a goddamn world to grow up in.

This is the fax I just sent my MP, Brian Cotter. I'm pretty much happy with it, though I'll admit it was a rushed job. I'd appreciate any feedback, though bear in mind that this has been sent now.

In regards to the Hutton Inquiry )

Any Brits wishing to follow suit, visit http://owos.info and search for your local MP. C'mon, this just might be our chance to make a real difference.

Just a recommendation for today: Anti-Capitalism: A Guide to the Movement, a reference book of sorts.

Hello, this is the English people. We don't need a visit from Bush that is going to cost us millions of pounds. We don't need another political moron in this country, not even for a matter of days.

When exactly did we give permission for our tax money to be spent on over-the-top security measures to protect this idiot? When did we say it was okay to grind everything to a halt for him?

Time to see if I can get to London this week and join a protest.

Until I have the time to be more coherent and eloquent:

To the innocents who died in the WTC tragedy; it's inevitable that you will be remembered forever, not only by your family and friends but by the rest of the Western world. None of you deserved to die because of your government's ego.

To the U.S. government; I can give you no sympathy for what you brought on yourself. You created a monster and then were surprised when it attacked. It sickens me to see people who pretend their tears are for the fallen when it's clear they're mourning the death of the naïve idea that the U.S. was utterly infallible.

Here's a link, as promised:
UK Condemns Britons' Terror Trial

Can I just state my displeasure at the fact they've only shown their contempt towards these trials when Britons are involved? Similar methods have been used when trying Afghans but that's just peachy. I hate how things only become a 'problem' when they reach your own country.

I'll be trying to find one that's got a bit more information about the nature of the trials themselves tomorrow morning.
